ABOUT THE PASO DOBLE
Paso Doble means "two step" in Spanish and is a dance based on the traditions and movements of the Spanish Bullfight. It is a dance for the man (matador), which allows him to fill the floor with strong shapes and movements danced with pride and dignity. The woman's role varies but she often acts as though she is the matador's cape or a flamenco dancer. The Paso Doble is performed with great intensity and is the only dance with set breaks (also called "highlights" or "crashes") in the music. Unlike Cha-Cha and Jive which are danced in one area ("spot dances"), this dance travels around the room, following Line of Dance.
